Recovery Tow Point to suit Toyota Prado 150 & FJ Cruiser

Prado 150 Compatibility and Aramac Grey powder coat coming soon.

If you've done your homework, you'll know that our recovery point for the Prado 150 & FJ Cruiser is a little unconventional. Not only does it secure to the standard mounting locations, but it also takes up a third point: the factory tie-down point. This trio gives our point a unique advantage.

Whilst strong, the standard two mounting points are vulnerable to a peeling type of force during less-than-ideal recoveries. The addition of our third mounting location on a second plane shares loads more evenly and results in an incredibly robust point with superior performance. Utilising this second plane also allows us to leverage the design for a horizontal opening, allowing for greater clearances and approach angles, and we all know just how important that is when heading off-road.

  • Soft shackle friendly, with a large opening and rounded edges.
  • Low profile and specifically designed for the Prado 150 & FJ Cruiser, for optimum approach/departure angles.
  • 20mm thick Australian Made Steel, Billet CNC Machined.
  • Designed to safely manage stresses generated during an angled recovery.
  • A gloss powder coat finish in Tanami Red or Aramac Grey (coming soon) ensures your recovery point is both hardwearing and looks great.
  • 5000kg WLL.

Compatible with Prado 150 & FJ Cruiser Bull Bars:

  • No Bar / Factory Bumper
  • Genuine Toyota (Alloy & Commercial)
  • ARB (Some trimming of splash guard may be required)
  • TJM
  • XROX

How does the recovery point mount to the Prado 150 vs the FJ Cruiser?
Both vehicles use the same lower chassis mounting point, and then each takes up a slightly different hole for top mounting, as pictured below. They then take up a third point, which is unique to our points and gives them a big advantage in recovery situations.

FJ Cruiser top chassis mounting point
Is the Recovery Point compatible with the Prado 120?
We believe the point may be compatible with later Prado 120 models, however we have been unable to confirm this yet.

What Bull Bars is this compatible with?

We have confirmed compatibility with the following Prado 150 & FJ Cruiser Bull Bars:

  • No Bar / Factory Bumper
  • Genuine Toyota (Alloy & Commercial)
  • ARB (Some trimming of splash guard may be required)
  • TJM
  • XROX
  • AFN (Some trimming of splash guard required)

If your bull bar is not on this list but fits recovery points from other leading brands, it is likely our point will fit your vehicle. If you test it out and have success, let us know!

Prado Recovery Points

As always - another quality well thought out product from KAON - easy to install with the instructions supplied and online video - I have not had the need to use them yet - but best to be prepared !!

Most excellent recovery points

Its been worth the wait - well designed rated recovery points for my FJ Cruiser with a TJM T3 bullbar. These are recovery points were one of the easiest installs I have done on the FJ, the instructions were great and the recovery points seem bomb proof. They make use of both the chassis and the Toyota tiedown points so they mount in two planes with the recovery point horizontal to the ground so they don't lower ground clearance or approach angle. Definitely recommend these.

Prado 2021 Recovery Points

I love the Kaon recovery points on my Prado 2021 as they are rated to 5t and fit perfectly without a bullbar. I like how kaon has attached it to the chassis, and it moulds to the underbody, also using the tow point, taking all of the critical pressure points into account in the design on the Prado. I’ve done some testing, and I know I could rely on these if I were to get in trouble.
