ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

Passengers should not ride in the third-row with this installed. This barrier has not been tested to Australian Standards, and is intended as a pet barrier or for use when off-road. 

All of our barriers are designed to be compatible with modern side and curtain-airbag systems, and as such there is clearance around all sides of the barrier to ensure unaffected airbag deployment. In rare instances, very small dogs may be able to get through the gaps provided for this clearance.

What is the load/weight capacity for the Rear Roof Shelf?

The shelf is rated to 10kg, evenly distributed across the shelf. We recommend it as storage for lightweight and soft cargo. If you need help imagining what that looks like, here's an example:

Can we still use the third-row seats with the Shelf installed?

Any modifications to your vehicle’s third-row area may impact its compliance with safety regulations. We do not recommend carrying passengers in this space after modifications as it presents a dangerous safety hazard.
 
Additionally, some modifications that affect passenger capacity may require certification (mod-plating) to ensure your vehicle remains compliant with your state or territory’s regulations. We recommend checking with your local transport authority for specific requirements.

How big is the Standalone Shelf?

The shelf measures 1028 x 460mm. 

What are the clearances when installed?

Clearances when installed (subject to variances of up to +/-5mm): 

Roof to shelf base: 
160mm

Shelf base to floor: 
665mm at minimum - please note the MU-X has a sloped floor and the distance towards the rear of the vehicle will be greater. 

Why does the MU-X Rear Roof Shelf include an additional Side Molle Panels, unlike some other KAON Shelves?

The Isuzu does not include third-row grab handles or captive mounts in the roof, which we traditionally use to secure our Rear Roof Shelves.

Instead, the MU-X shelf is supported by a bracket that attaches to a factory bolt in the D-pillar, along with the support panels which attach to the factory cargo cover mounting point while resting inside the cup holders.  

How do the Side Molle Panels work with the curtain airbags?

The Side Molle Panels are designed to allow unobstructed deployment of the factory curtain airbags. That said, we do not recommend any passengers ride in the third-row seats with either of these products installed. 

What is required to mount the Side Molle Panels?

The Side Molle Panels for the Isuzu MU-X will require unencumbered access to both the factory cargo cover mounting points and the third-row cupholders. The best thing to do if you are unsure is to watch the video or read the fitting instructions; both are available on the product listing.

Can the rear cargo pull out cover still be used?

No, the side molle panels uses the same holes where the cover sits.

Do your Cargo barriers have vertical / up and down adjustment?

No, the barriers are not able to be adjusted vertically.

Can the barrier be used with baby and child car seats?

Yes, the barrier is compatible with child restraints and baby car seats. We recommended running the straps under the barrier to the ISOFIX points on the rear of the seat, ensuring they do not rub against the barrier.
